A massive music post today...some brand new stuff from artists you may already know, in addition to some tracks from artists you've likely never heard of...enjoy...there is some great music below...happy listening
Feist - My Man My Moon - Here's a new studio track that will appear on her next album...if the whole album is like this, I except it to be huge among indie circles...
The new Modest Mouse Album, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, leaked this past week...here are two choice cuts from the new disc (Johnny Marr's presence is particularly evident on the first track)...
Modest Mouse - Invisible
Modest Mouse - March Into The Sea
These next tracks are from two bands who are getting a lot of blog love right now...I like to think of them as Stars-clones, although they both rock out a little more...
Harlem Shakes - Carpetbaggers
WinterKids - Tape It
Okkervil River is a band that knocked me on my ass in 2006, although they have been around for much longer...a blend of folk, rock and country, these guys are definitely worth your time (if you like The Cure, skip to the third track...you'll find that the guitar, synth and rhythm sections will be to your liking...)
Okkervil River - The President's Dead
Okekervil River - For Real
Okkervil River - Black
I've been on a remix/mashup kick of late and Girl Talk is the epitome of the genre...he takes well known hip hop, rap and rock tracks and fuses them together to create some pretty awesome results...check it out...
Girl Talk - Hold Up
Girl Talk - Give and Go
Girl Talk - Smash Your Head
The Kooks - Naive - these guys are just plain fun...in my opinion, this is their best track...try not to tap along to this one...
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Weapon of Choice - I've been waiting for these guys to return to rock and roll for awhile, and this cut from their new album marks a return to form...rock on...
This is funny...the Raptors should get this guy for the playoffs...
And for those of you who have a certain affinity for felines, here's the cat version of Liberace...she plays about as well as i do...although i think my 'Three Note Song' is superior in the minimalist genre (not too many have been privy to the excellence that is my piano-playing ability)

Valentine's Day and Other Fun Stuff...
Alright, I'm back....a massive post today...let's get started...
Check out this disgusting hit from the Pro Bowl last week...my team (the Redskins) stink, but at least they have Sean Taylor, who hits like my mother did when I was seven...this shit has gotta hurt, although how much props can you really give a guy who nails the punter?? (sorry about the quality...the NFL asked all proper videos from live telecasts to be removed from youtube for copyright reasons, so i had to find one of someone taping their television...ah well...you can still garner the violence of the hit from the picture you see...)
Manufactured Landscapes - This movie got a ton of critical acclaim at the Toronto Film Festival last year and for those that have seen 'Baraka', it looks to be in that mold...should be interesting, check out this primer...
Paintball Showdown - This is just plain funny...Jackass funny...I have no idea why I find this so hilarious...it just is....
This should be mandatory at all sporting events, not to mention in all high schools and elementary schools following the morning announcements...click on the link to find a video to what I'm referring to...Funny College Crowd
Goal of the Week - Danny Landzaat vs. Arsenal (stunning strike...I love goals like this)
Here are some songs to get you in the mood for V-Day (how can anyone celebrate a day whose initials are 'VD'....ewwwwww)
Elbow - Switching Off (one of the most stunning odes to love that you will ever hear...the lyrics and imagery on this track are brilliant...one of my favorite songs of all time)
Ben Folds - The Luckiest (a fun song, but true in many ways...it brings up some interesting ideas about love and relationships)
Cloud Cult - Chemicals Collide (this band is tipped for greatness in 2007 and will be on many critics 'best of' lists at the end of the year)
Tenacious D - Fuck Her Gently (this track is simply funny...nuff said...play it loud)
And some more new Kings of Leon - Charmer (a little more Nirvana-ish than they're used to...love the bass, not too sure about the incessant sreaming though...)
This song has nothing to do with Valentine's Day...I've just had it on repeat the last couple of days...Beirut - Scenic World (this song could almost be a Wolf Parade track...i love the way it builds on itself...this guy is extremely talented and it's likely that you'll be seeing more from him in this space)
Oh yeah....hot sex this is...The Arcade Fire at Massey Hall on May 15 and 16...can't wait for this one...here's another one off Neon Bible, to be released on March 6...
The Arcade Fire - No Cars Go

More New Bloc Party
So here's the deal...Bloc Party released their sophomore album last week to much critical acclaim...turns out they in fact released two albums worth of material...depending on where you live or where you purchased the CD, various bonus songs were available...in total, that amounts to 12 MORE Bloc Party tracks...a pretty prolific output, and all pretty quality stuff...here's a taste of some of that output...for those wondering where the Bloc Party of old went on their 2nd album, these b-sides may contain the answer...
Bloc Party - Version 2.0
Bloc Party - Selfish Son
Bloc Party - Cain Said To Abel
Here's a trailer to a movie that looks pretty interesting...judge for yourself...
This is pretty creative...a spoof on the recent bomb-scare in Boston...

More Cool Stuff from 2006...
I'm going to be lazy again and post Youtube videos instead of songs....I'm at work and don't have access to my external hard drive. Should you require the actual song file, just email me and I'll post the mp3.
Snowden - Anti Anti (This song slowly crept under my skin toward the end of '06 and will likely do the same for you...)
Snowfight in the City Centre - No Light Left (a cross between U2, the Arcade Fire and Coldplay, although I can't quite pinpoint who the lyricist reminds me of....the guitar has a little Smiths feel to it as well)
Frou Frou - Let Go (this is not the official video for this great song...Imogen Heap is extremely talented)
Modest Mouse - Dashboard (new) - Here's a new Modest Mouse track...no, it's not Float On...definitely a little more accessible...looking forward to this record, if only to hear what Johnny Marr adds to the mix
Bloc Party - The Once and Future King - Here's a track that didn't make the final tracklisting for their recently released sophomore album...much more like the Bloc Party of old
And what would a post be without some sort of soccer action...check out this goal in a recent game between Italy and the Czech Republic...
I'm out!!!
